The MTA is delighted to launch its first South American Chapter on November 24th, 2011 in Rio de Janeiro! The night will feature a reception for members and guests as well as presentations from Mr. Flavio Lemos, CMT, Mr. Marcio Ferracini, CMT and a webcast from Mr. John Murphy, CMT. Flavio Lemos, CMT, CFP presenting: “Fundamental analysis versus technical analysis, or with it?”
About the Presenter: Flavio created Expo Trader Brazil and founded The International Asset Managers and Traders Congress. He holds Series 7, 4 & 24 from NASD, Series 3 from NFA, CMT from MTA, CFP from FSPB and a Masters of Business Administration. Flavio authored Análise Técnica Clássica, the most comprehensive book on the subject of Technical Analysis in Portuguese and wrote all questions of the Brazilian Technical analyst Association Exam (CT). Flavio is the Trader Brasil Trading School director and is keeps busy with many publications and presentations industry-wide.

About the Presenter: Marcio is currently working as an options market maker, providing bid/ask quotes and managing portfolio of ‘greeks’ on Nasdaq-related products at Consolidated Trading, LLC in Chicago. He has researched derivative products in areas such as foreign exchange and interest rates and developed a proprietary system to grade stocks using fundamental and quantitative methods, which he applies to manage equity portfolios in Brazil and US. He holds an MBA from Duke University and a Masters in Financial Markets from Illinois Institute of Technology.
John Murphy, CMT presenting: “A Review of the New Normal In Intermarket Work”
About the Presentation: In this recorded presentation, John Murphy, CMT discusses how deflation changed relationships over the last decade and the growing importance of foreign currencies in stock and commodity trends. He will also teach us how to use sector rotations in market forecasting and explain why chartists need to know what’s happening in all global markets.
About the Presenter: John Murphy, former technical analyst for CNBC, is author of several bestselling books including “Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets.” His book on “Intermarket Analysis” created a new branch of market analysis emphasizing market linkages. A revised edition of his third book “The Visual Investor” was published in February 2009. John was given the first award for outstanding contribution to global technical analysis by the International Federation of Technical Analysts, and has received the Market Technicians Association Annual Award. Mr. Murphy emphasizes the use of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) to implement asset allocation and sector rotation strategies as well as global trading. His current market views are published on Stockcharts.com.
